Films
Carstenz - The 7th Summit
(44 mins)
Carstenz Pyramid is located on Papua Island in Indonesia and, at 4,884m,
is the highest mountain in Australasia and one of the Seven Summits
- the highest mountains on each continent. The mountain is free of snow
and not particularly difficult technically - yet it is one of the most
challenging of all peaks.

This film follows a Slovakian expedition as they
battle with the inhospitable terrain and the local tribes they have
appointed as porters. A fascinating adventure film with a tragic environmental
tale to tell, this will certainly get you talking!
The Skye Challenge (5 mins)
Earlier this year, a team of 2 adventurers set out on a mission to traverse
the Black Cuillin ridge in under 48 hours. The twist? They must start
and finish in Mallaig!

Imagine, just for a second, if the MCoS got a huge grant and blew it
all hiring Warren Miller, Murray Wais and Danny Boyle to make film which
would both educate people about the dangers of the mountains in winter,
yet inspire them to get out there and enjoy them on foot, on skis or
whatever. That's kind of what's happened here.
FINALIST - BEST FILM AWARD
The Canadian Avalance Foundation has produced an inspiring film which
educates without you even realising it! Based around a number of true
stories, this film features some of the scariest avalanche footage you
