THE ADVENTURE SESSION - SHOW STARTS 2PM

The Sunday afternoon session is dedicated adventure, in whatever form it takes and wherever it is found. The session will appeal to everyone with an interest in travel, the outdoors, mountain sports and adventure in general. With some superb films and an inspiring speaker, it should be a highlight of the festival. Last year's line up was:

The films:

Scottish Extremities (36 mins)
This film charts the remarkable solo sea-kayak journey undertaken by Patrick Winterton last summer. Leaving from Glasgow, he paddled west out to Jura, continued to Mingulay, then made a 60 mile crossing to St Kilda.

Cape Wrath and Orkney are also visited en route to his final destination, Muckle Flugga on Shetland - the most northerly point in the UK.

In Pursuit (6 mins)
This film from a local snowboarder charts his recent adventures backcountry boarding in the Higlands.

Mana Wahine Walk (17 mins)
Three young women embark on an epic 84-day trek across New Zealand's South Island, crossing the NZ Alps and a few rivers in spate along the way. The result is an intriguing film which will fire your ambitions and get you planning your own adventure.

Lecture: Karen Darke
Karen's incredible story will be one of the highlights of the festival. Karen was paralysed from the chest down in a climbing accident but this has not stopped this Grantown on Spey local from hand cycling across the Himalaya or kayaking up Canada's west coast.

Her latest adventure was the most challenging - to join a team of adventurers who planned to traverse Greenland on skis...
