PROFILE : Alan Cassidy
Climbing Master Classes

Saturday 20 & Sunday 21 October 07

Alan Cassidy is one of Scotland's leading climbers and needs no introduction to those who know the sport climbing scene in the UK.

Also known as "Mr Mc8a", Alan in his 13 years of climbing, has managed over 70 routes graded 8a or harder, and has recently been seen repeating some of the country's hardest sport routes up to 8b+.

However, he is no slouch with his nuts (and cams!) having on-sighted up to E6 and last year managing an ascent of the famous Requiem, E8 at Dumbarton.

A member of the British Leading Team, Alan has competed nationally, gaining 3rd place at this year's British Leading Climbing Competition, and a very respectable 36th place at his first ever international comp in Kranj last year.

Despite looking like a brick outhouse, Alan's climbing style favours precision and control over brute strength with an awareness of the dynamics of climbing movement.

Alan is a very welcome addition to the EMFF Masterclass Coaching line-up.
