Guest lecturers Scott Muir and Jamie Andrew enthralled us with their very different tales of adventure.
Scott shared some of his stories on cutting edge ice, mixed and 'dry-tool' climbing and was forthright with his views. Contrastingly,
Jamie Andrew hushed the audience with his incredible tale of survival and recovery following a violent storm he endured while
climbing in the French Alps.
The photography exhibitions by Cubby and Nick Williams proved very popular. The colours, locations
and thought behind their photography was truly captivating. Meanwhile, the John Muir Trust's stand was able to keep festival-goers
up to date with their work, while the best action from the Fort William Mountain Bike World Cup was relived on a multi-screen
display courtesy of Rare Management.
We also need to thank all of you for supporting Mountain Rescue at the festival - we raised £660 for
the Mountain Rescue Committee for Scotland over the two nights. Well done and thanks!!
Final thanks go to our sponsors - Tiso, John Muir Trust and The Caledonian Brewery - and also to Nevis
Range and Pocket Mountain Publishers for the prizes.
