The EMFF Photography Competition for 2008 is now
open and we are seeking entries. This year, we have teamed up with the
Mountaineering Council of Scotland and have new
literary competitions, as well as even better prizes in the photography
competition. The categories for this year's competition are:
1) A Winter Adventure
2) Pushing My Limits
The winning entries will receive £25 cash prize, 1 year's individual
membership of the MCoS & a Harvey's map of the Cairngorms. Along
with selected commended entries, the winning photos will appear as part
of a month long EMFF exhibition to be held at the Edinburgh Fine Art
Library on George IV Bridge, alongside the other festival exhibitions.
This exhibition will run throughout October 2008 and is open to the
public, free of charge.
Competition Rules:
- Closing date for entries is 31July 2008
- No more than 3 entries per person, per category
- By entering the competition, you agree to have your photos displayed
as part of the EMFF exhibition 2008 at the Edinburgh Fine Art Library
(tbc)
- Winners are decided by the EMFF judging panel. The judges' decision
is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- The winning photo in each category will receive £25 and have
the image displayed as part of the EMFF exhibition.
- Neither Edinburgh Mountain Film Festival or the exhibition venue can
be held responsible for loss or damage to photos before, during or after
the exhibition.
- We regret that we cannot return photographs but they can be collected
at the festival at morning or afternoon sessions only. Digital entries
preferred.

How to enter
You can submit your photos in one of two ways:
- Digital Entries by email:
photos should be in jpeg format and should be sent by an email of
no more than 5MB in total. Please state your name & contact
phone number in the email. Please also state clearly which category
each image is being entered into.

- by post:
photos should be sent approx 10x8 size (other formats are OK). Note
that we cannot post these back to you although you can collect them
during the festival. Please state your name & contact phone number
on the back of each photo. Please also state clearly which category
