PROFILE : GUY GRIEVE
The Call of the Wild

Lecture:
(Sunday 22 October 2006)
The Adventure Session

Guy Grieve was born in 1973 in Southern Africa. Half Italian and half Scottish, his childhood was spread across three continents. He recently made an uncompromising break for the bushes, escaping the shackles of office life forever and living out a childhood dream.

Leaving his family behind, Guy set out for the sub-arctic wilderness of Alaska, where he built a log cabin and spent a year living in one of the world's last great wilderness regions, 300 miles from the nearest road and days from the nearest human settlement.

He ran his own dog team, hunted and fished for food, survived temperatures that fell below -60°C and made friendships in that lonely region that have changed the direction of his life forever. Come and hear his remarkable story.

Guy's first book, 'The Call of the WIld', is published on 1st September.
