Edinburgh Mountain Film Festival

The 6th Edinburgh Mountain Film Festival will be held at the George Square Lecture Theatre at Edinburgh University, 17-19 October 2008. Please note that this is NOT anywhere near George Street! It is at George Square, Edinburgh University in Newington.

With such an acessable venue, there really is no need to come by car so please use a more sustainable method of travel.

Away from the main event, the exhibitions will be staged at Edinburgh Fine Art Library. This is upstairs from Edinburgh Central Library on George IV Bridge in the city centre. On entering the central library, go up the stairs on your right and keep going up!

This is a city centre location so public transport serves the area well - please use it! Or better still, walk!

The following Lothian Buses go to George Square:

2, 23, 27, 41, 42, 45, N27

In addition, the following Lothian Buses go to Nicolson Street, just a couple of minutes walk from George Square:

2, 3, 3A, 5, 7, 8, 14, 29, 30, 31, X31, 33, 37, 37A, X37, 42, X47, 49, N30, N33 & N37.

If you must come by car, however, on-street parking is available in the surrounding area. Please note, however, that the large NCP car park formerly located next to George Square is now closed as a new university building is being sited there. Which is another reason to walk or use public transport to travel to the festival!
